Saints Mary and Elizabeth Among 'Best Hospitals' in Chicago Metro Area

28 Physicians Named to U.S. News 'Top Doctors' List

Another great achievement for our health care team! Out of 121 Chicago metro area hospitals, U.S. News ranks Saints Mary and Elizabeth No. 22 on the 2011-12 "Best Hospitals" list, which was released July 19, 2011. Click here to see the Chicago metro area rankings with the top 44 hospitals.

To be ranked in its metro area, a hospital had to score in the top 25 percent among its peers in at least one of 16 medical specialties. The medical center was recognized as high-performing in four specialties: geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, and pulmonology.

This new ranking reinforces the medical center's strong clinical reputation — both locally and nationally. Read the news release about the U.S. News ranking with information on how to conduct a medical center search.

In addition, 28 physicians from Saints Mary and Elizabeth — representing 15 medical specialties — are included in the U.S. News Top Doctors directory, available July 2011. Click here to see the free online directory featuring nearly 30,000 U.S. physicians nominated by their peers.

To create the "Top Doctors" directory, U.S. News teamed up with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a leading publisher of consumer health guides. Read the news release and see which doctors made the list.
